The City of Ogdensburg is a Council/Manager form of government. The City Council consists of seven elected officials - the Mayor and six Councillors. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council.

The U.S. Customs Office is located at the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge which joins Ogdensburg, N.Y. and Prescott, Ontario, Canada. Immigration and Naturalization

Citizens of the United States, Canada and the Commonwealth, and also permanent resident aliens and landed immigrants in Canada, may cross the U.S./Canadian border without passport or visa. However, identification such as a birth certificate, driver's license, etc. should be carried. Landed immigrants will need to provide evidence of citizen status.
