

The City of Ogdensburg operates both water and wastewater facilities. The St. Lawrence River provides a guaranteed supply of quality water which is chlorinated and fluoridated at the City's filtration plant. Static water pressure is approximately 50 pounds and continuous flow is approximately 750 gallons a minute. The City's capacity is over 5 million gallons a day including elevated storage of 1.5 million and ground storage of l million gallons serviced by high capacity pumps. Additional flows can be made available if necessary. The City's wastewater treatment facility features primary and secondary sewage systems.
City HallNiagara Mohawk Power Corporation is a private investor-owned electrical utility which serves the Ogdensburg area and Northern New York State. The utility company offers an economic development discount to companies that create new jobs in Ogdensburg, with the resulting rates being highly competitive. This Economic Development Zone Rider (EDZR) in the Ogdensburg Economic Development Zone is exceptionally favorable, providing a 50% to 70% reduction in typical electric rates.

Discounted electric rates for existing loads, when customer qualifies as
economically and financially distressed.
NYNEX offers a five percent (5%) discount to EDZ certified businesses. To qualify for this benefit, a certified business sends a copy of its EDZ certificate and a notarized letter stating that it plans to increase its zone investment.
